What a great advert for Choral music yesterday as an exciting and entertaining day was had by all at the North Wales Choral Festival at Venue Cymru. The morning started in great style as the compere Dilwyn Morgan welcomed competitors and spectators alike to the venue. It is a regular event for Dilwyn whose humour got everyone in a good mood.
The Male Voice Choir competition, sponsored by Tony Earley, Wealth Management, kicked proceedings off with five choirs competing. The standard was extremely high and after much deliberation the adjudicators awarded first place to the Daleian Singers from North Staffordshire whose programme had finished with a brilliant rendition of Working Man. Runners up were Cor Meibion Colwyn.
The afternoon saw the Ladies Choir competition sponsored by Threeways Garage. Another keenly contested session with five Welsh Choirs singing. The adjudicators deliberated for a long time before awarding first place to Cor Rhianned y Moelwyn from Blaenau Ffestiniog. Second were Llesiau Mignedd.
A busy day finished with the evening Festival Celebration Concert where everyone relaxed and put on a great show.
