UK's Largest Free Musical Festival Comes To North Wales

Its been confirmed the UK's biggest free music festival is coming to North Wales this summer!

This morning Radio 1's Aled Haydn announced live on air the station's Big Weekend will be coming to the Faenol Estate on the twenty second and twenty third of May.

Twenty thousand tickets will be made available for each day with people in Bangor and the surrounding area getting priority, and Pixie Lott is the first confirmed artist.

Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfed Edwards has told Tudno FM:

“We are delighted to be able to welcome Radio 1 and its listeners to Gwynedd and are confident that the Faenol Estate will be a fitting stage for the Big Weekend.

“Attracting such a high-profile event is a great opportunity for us to showcase what makes Gwynedd such a great place to live and visit.“
   

Prince William visits Llandudno

Prince William has been in Llandudno to visit a home which will care for blind ex-service people.

 

william St Dunstan's is set to open a centre in Craig y Don next year,and on Monday the 22nd of February the Prince met residents,staff and supporters...he also saw some of the activities that will be on offer,including blind archery.

Missing Person

Concern is growing for the safety of a man who was last seen in Llandudno on December 1.

Alastair Richard Leveson, 40, had been living at the Beach House Hotel, Llandudno, for the past year, but is originally from the Manchester area.

misperMr Leveson has left most of his property at the hotel and police are anxious to hear from anyone who may know of his whereabouts.

   

Armed Robbery

An appeal for witnesses and information is being made following a robbery at a convenience store in Llysfaen, Colwyn Bay on Monday night.

Shortly after 21:30hrs on Monday, 28th December, North Wales Police received a report that an armed robbery had occurred at the Spar store.

Three men entered the location demanding money and threatened two members of staff with weapons - believed to be a handgun and a knife. The men then left the store with a quantity of cash from the till.

   

Drugs Charges

A 32-year-old advertising consultant has at Llandudno court today (Wednesday 30th December) denied a charge of trying to import five kilos of liquid cannabis with an alleged value of between £67,500 and £135,000.

It was claimed that a package from the University of Ghana addressed to a doctor in the Conwy Valley had been intercepted by customs staff at Heathrow airport.
