MP Blasts Judge

A Labour MP attacked by a Rottweiler said today she and the public have been let down by magistrates who spared the dog’s life.

betty-williams-mp-001   Conwy MP Betty Williams has been left disfigured and still suffers pain in her arm three months after the attack in her local park at Talysarn, near Caernarfon.

Last week magistrates at Caernarfon imposed a £100 fine on the Rottweiler’s owner and ordered him to pay £365 compensation for the injury, Mrs Williams’s damaged jacket and mileage for her hospital visits. Daniel Bright, 32, a self-employed outdoor instructor, of Talysarn, admitted being the owner of a dog called Jake which was dangerously out of control in public.
