A 32-year-old advertising consultant has at Llandudno court today (Wednesday 30th December) denied a charge of trying to import five kilos of liquid cannabis with an alleged value of between £67,500 and £135,000.

It was claimed that a package from the University of Ghana addressed to a doctor in the Conwy Valley had been intercepted by customs staff at Heathrow airport.

Magistrates decided the case against Nelson Asiedo, formerly of Bangor but now of Swindon, Wiltshire, should be heard at the crown court.

Asiedo will appear before magistrates again on February 24 for committal proceedings.
