When Frank Sinatra refused to record " My heart cries for you" for Columbia Records and A & R manager Mitch Miller,  a young man called Guy Mitchell got his opportunity to release his first record. Sintra's disdain at having to record a country and Western record to improve his record sales opened the door for Mitchell who went on to record hit after hit after hit with novelty songs that had great commercial appeal in the early fifties.       By the sixties his career was over but the records are still remembered with great affection by all who are of a certain age.
